probably the funniest status update I've ever written.

So, my parents just moved, right? And they are downsizing because they don't feel the need for a big house when none of their children live at home anymore. So while they were down sizing they got rid of a lot of stuff...a lot of my stuff. I chose to think it was kind of funny. As a result I wrote a facebook status to portray how it felt...

and according to everyone who has read it, it is probably the funniest status I have ever written. so...I decided I'd share it with you.

"How my mother makes back all the money she loans me while I'm a broke student.
DISCLAIMER: Conversations may have been distorted and not accurately transcribed as events occurred for comedic relief and because I'm a sarcastic little brat sometimes.  But all of the following did happen.
(over the course of several months)
Me- "Hey mom, how are you?"
Mom- "Oh good, by the way, that chair you love and kind of claimed because it fits you perfectly, we're getting rid of it.
Me- BUT!
Mom- Sorry.
Me" Hey mom, how are you today?"
Mom- Good, oh, by the way, we are getting rid of your computer desk, don't worry we took all of your stuff out of it first.
Me-...uh...okay...
Me- Hey mom, how's it going?
Mom- good, i may have to go soon someone is coming to get the dressers.
Me-What dressers?
Mom- the white ones with the colored handles you've had since you were little.
Me- You're getting rid of my dresser?!! BUT I LOVE IT!!!
Mom- sorry.
Me- hey mom, how are you?
Mom- good, oh by the way...you don't have a bed anymore..."

and then it continued through the comments, which I will try to post here...somehow...

wow...i think that might have worked...

So yeah, that is the story of the funniest status I think I've ever written.

so...enjoy.

One day at a time

So, yeah. Life just happened.

Basically life exploded on me.

So we're just gonna try and play catch-up one post at a time.

So I've been having some health issues the last year and a half or so, as in I've been gaining excessive weight and other hormonal stuff, which we all thought was probably thyroid issues.

Finally found a doctor who would actually agreed that I probably had something wrong and was willing to test until we figured it out.

So after way to many blood tests, and other tests we found a bunch of cysts on my ovaries, which sends your hormones completely out of whack.

This led to my very first surgery ever, in which I was knocked unconscious, filled with gas and shot with lasers. Sounds like the stuff from science fiction, right?

That actual terms of what was done are called diagnostic laparoscopy. So I was put under general anesthesia, and then in order to get a good look at the inside of your stomach they have to fill it with CO2 gas and then send in a little camera and light and then little robot hand things and a laser thing that they used to remove the cysts.

I was surprisingly not worried about my first surgery. I was more worried about how long it would take to bounce back. I had surgery the Tuesday before Thanksgiving...which was the week before dead...which was the week before finals...which is basically the suckiest two weeks of any college students life.

So I finally find out what time my surgery is night before...it wasn't until about 3:00 in the afternoon. I also wasn't allowed to eat anything after midnight... I told my roommates...and (because I have the best roommates ever) their immediate reaction is was WAFFLE PARTY!!!! We had a waffle party and watched a movie so I could eat until midnight. And they were really good waffles.

So I get to the hospital, it's about 2 in the afternoon. And...they were running about 2 hours behind. So I get into pre-op and play the waiting game for the next 2 hours.

Then I wake up, am very groggy, but really boring. Sorry world, I am no fun on narcotics. I didn't get loopy, just tired. But still able to hold conversation.

Then comes recovery, I spent about 2 days hopping between the bed and the recliner at my grandmas house. Want to know where the worst amount of pain came from? My shoulder.

They will release all the gas when they are done with surgery. But some of it works it's way into your system and for some reason just loves to congregate at your shoulder...making your life absolutely miserable. Which is where drugs come in. Narcotics made life bearable.

After I didn't need them anymore I wanted to get rid of them. I've heard people will break into houses to steal left over drugs. Did you know you can drop off any left over prescriptions with the police department? they'll incinerate old drugs for you. I thought that was pretty great.

So yeah...that's about as exciting as that was.

yup...that is the end of that adventure.

So...I've been busy. Guess it's time to catch up.

Wow, almost two months since I wrote something.

In my defense, this semester has been crazy.

The month of October I went to Salt Lake almost every weekend. I was working at This is The Place, going to school and working my job in Logan.

First I worked the witches ball, which was beyond so much fun! I was only handing out brownies and cookies, but it was still just a blast to see everyone in costumes and people dancing. It was just a great time.

Then, I went to a corn maze the next day and got a freaking huge pumpkin, which was also awesome.

Then the next weekend I worked the Little haunts over fall break, which was so much fun! I also ended up working one night of haunted village, not as much fun...at all...I don't do haunted. Went to my friends wedding reception and caught bouquet #7.  And then proceeded to work in Logan, within 6 days I worked 60 hours, in addition to going to school...I was beyond tired by the end of that week. And then back down to Salt Lake to work the last day of Little haunts and go to my friends cousins reception. I decided to let the little girl next to me catch the bouquet at that one considering I didn't know anyone besides my friend there.

I know more stuff happened in the middle of all of this...but again...life's been crazy.

While at little haunts one day I got to work as the Story Witch, and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!! I got to lead the costume parade and tell stories to kids all day.

I look good as a blonde.

I know I've said this before, but I just LOVE This is The Place. I learn so many cool things that I couldn't learn anywhere else, and I work with some of the coolest people, and I've made some of the greatest friends, and it's just a great place to be.

Who wouldn't love a place like this?

So yeah, spending a good chunk of October there didn't cause me problems at all.

And now we are on to finishing out the semester. There are certain adventures coming my way that I am not ready to make public yet, but I'm excited for them.

As for now, I'm just enjoying the adventures of being a college student, barely making ends meet, but making it. And it's never boring, nor is it ever short of miracles.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone this upcoming week!
